The Construction King

Is your life under construction? I have come to the conclusion that my faith walk is a work in progress. This coincides with the construction process from my 36 years in the building industry. The battle cry of our company is that everything rises and falls upon leadership. Leading ourselves first and then leading our teams.
Within the book The New Gold Standard, we hear about the story of Ritz Carlton. The author explains what Ritz believes to be the meaning of Leadership. “’True leadership is a process of building a trust environment within which leaders and followers feel free to participate toward accomplishment of mutually valued goals using agreed-upon processes.’”
What I’ve gathered from Ritz Carlton’s wisdom is that people are your greatest asset. Know their gifts and how best to put them to work. Inspire them to work alongside each other to maximize results.
Is it possible for you to imagine your life as a building project? Are we looking at our foundation? Are all the pipes clear so that everything flows well? Are the conduits clean (no restrictions or blockages) so we can be used to fulfill for our personal mission? Do we know what the desired outcome is for our life and the structure we are building? The journey I have traveled has been more about who I have become and less about the amazing projects I can complete with the right team. This scripture has always been an encouragement to me.
“A builder is more valuable than a building any day. Every house has a builder,
but the builder behind them all is God.” Hebrews 3:3 The Message Bible
As we begin our journey of continually building our lives, have you considered how God views us? Perhaps we are not able to understand what He is doing, but if we have the faith to believe and know that He is working through us so the life ahead will be exceedingly abundant. We have many examples to follow:
Noah is someone who did what God asked – he did this alone. Have courage!
Abraham embraced the unknown. Genesis 12
Joseph endured in spite of every situation. Genesis 37
Daniel trusted God and knew that the safest place for him was with Him…
no matter where that might be. Daniel 6
Are you trusting God to continue to remodel your life? As you build your house do not be fearful; but be brave and courageous. Remember, the builder is more valuable than the building.
